2022- A Winter to Remember

It’s been a while since we’ve had a winter like this. The last few have been fairly mild with little snow. This fall/winter has been a different story! We’ve had lots of snow, extremely cold temps, and way too much time stuck indoors.

Weather like this makes us extra appreciative of the nice days that have been few and far between. We try to take the extra time to get outside and play and burn off some energy! After the second storm last week and a full 27 hours without power, we were all going a little stir crazy!

As much as it seems to drag on while it’s happening, you get through it a realize it will be a memory for our kids and we need to make the best of it! Like when we were without power for 27 hours, my husband got the wood stove going in his leather shop, and we camped out in there for a while and cooked supper on the wood stove. As much as I was going crazy, Little Max thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Eating our supper at our “camp out” while we were without power!

As the boys continue to grow, I love watching them play and be innovative. The other day, Little Max thought it would be a great idea to hook the sled up to his tractor and pull his brother around the yard. Hayes is only a year and half, but he goes along with all of his big brother’s plans. Then he just smiles and waves as he’s having a blast!

I hope that my kids remember these days as happy times. It’s been a long few weeks on the animals and on my husband who has spent the majority of his time outside and moving snow while I’m stuck in the house with the boys. We’ve been stressed and worried, but I hope they remember our camp out, sledding, and building snowmen! I’m thankful to be living this life even in the toughest of times!
